You are qualified

Have you ever thought to yourself that you were not sufficient, not qualified to do the things that the Lord has asked you to do.
Well let me share a word of encouragement with you today from 2 Cor. 3 verses 5-6:
5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;
6 Who also has made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter kills, but the spirit gives life.
We have the same sufficiency from our Father God who has made us able ministers in whatever area of life or task that Lord has called us to.
So don’t look at your circumstances, as to what they or the world tells you that you can or cannot do, but look unto Jesus whom the scriptures state “is the author and perfecter of our faith”. Begin to say within yourself today, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”.
Then step out and do what God has placed in your heart to accomplish, for you are qualified!

Fiery Trials

I don’t know how many times I have gone to do something that the Lord has spoken to my heart, when immediately there arises some circumstance or situation that seeks discourage or distract me from doing His will.

If you are in that place today where you can say with me that it seems like all hell was waiting for you when you stepped out to accomplish something God told you to do, then let me remind you of what the Apostle Peter had to say about this in 1 Peter 4:12-13
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

Do you hear what the Lord is saying to us through this scripture?

Let’s just take a second here to examine by the Holy Spirit what these verses have to say to us.

First, He calls us Beloved! Not second rate, barely hanging in there, low life scum of the earth sinner ….but Beloved! I was a sinner but praise God I got saved by Grace, and now because of the Blood of Jesus, I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Praise God, I am the Beloved of my Father God!

Next he says “Don’t think it is a strange thing concerning this fiery trial which has come to try you”. Hey, the devil hates you. He hated Jesus, the apostles and disciples that were before us, and he hates us to because we belong to the Father God. Now, the devil will try to make you believe that these fiery trials come from God.
But listen to what James says about this lie from the devil in in James 1:13-17:
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Now the Lord is telling us “do not err”. He is not the source of our temptations, trials, tribulations, persecutions, or problems. He is the Father of lights! He does not bless one time and the curse the next. No he is the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father…not a child abuser!
So if this trial, temptation, problem, persecution is not from Him then the question is from whom?
Well let’s listen to the words of Jesus from John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
And again in John 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
Now look at the life of Jesus through the Gospel, and ask yourself did Jesus tempt or do terrible things to those He ministered to? Did He plague them with disease or sorrow? Did you ever read anywhere in the scriptures where Jesus did this to anyone? The answer has to be NO! And if he perfectly represents the Father then my Heavenly Father did not do this!
So if you have stepped out to obey the Lord in anything then just know that it is the devil who is attempting to turn you away from obeying your Heavenly Father.

Last He says “rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings”!
Yes, rejoice because you have become a partaker of Christ’s sufferings. When I look up that word “sufferings” it refers to mental or emotional anguish, grief, indignation, resentment, and sorrow. These are the sufferings of that Christ and all of his followers endured as they lived the life and preached the Word of God.
The world system and satan was there to resist them and attempt to discourage them. So rejoice, just as the religious and satan led of the day hated Jesus they will hate you to.
But in all of this remember it is only because you are becoming more and more like Jesus through your obedience to what He has called or asked you to do. So as you rejoice, you will find as the Apostle Paul did that in your weakness…the area where the devil is tempting/testing or attempting to discourage you in, that is where you will find the strength of the Lord. And as you find the strength of the Lord to accomplish these tasks, you will see His Glory displayed in your life, and as you see His Glory and Power displayed in your life, you will be glad with exceeding great joy!

My Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, Rejoice…and again I say “rejoice”!
